Jeffery Rentzel has proudly called Alaska home for more than 45 years. A veteran of both the United States Air Force and the Alaska National Guard, his life has been defined by service—to his country, his community, and the families of Alaska.
Jeffery is a devoted father to three children—two daughters and one son—and a proud grandfather of two. Alongside his family, he has opened his home and heart as a foster parent to more than 75 children, providing care, stability, and encouragement to young people during some of the most challenging seasons of their lives.
After a distinguished career spanning more than 28 years as a Juvenile Justice Officer with the State of Alaska, Jeffery retired having dedicated his professional life to helping young people find hope, accountability, and a path forward. His commitment to Alaska’s youth continued through his appointment by the Governor to serve on the Juvenile Justice Committee, as well as his service on the Resource Family Advisory Board.
Today, Jeffery serves as President of the Board of Directors for Thrivalaska, continuing his passion for strengthening families and building healthier communities. He is also an active volunteer with the Tanana Valley Special Olympics, Tanana District 4-H, and the Tanana Valley State Fair, investing his time and energy into organizations that make Interior Alaska a better place to live.
At his core, Jeffery is a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican. He believes the principles that have guided his life—faith in God, commitment to family, love of country, personal responsibility, and service to others—are the same values that can help keep Alaska strong for future generations. As a candidate for the Alaska House of Representatives, Jeffery is committed to bringing a lifetime of service, leadership, and common-sense values to Juneau on behalf of the people of District 35.
